07 camry XLE remote start install???

I recently did a remote start install at the toyota dealer, I dont know if its the standard remote or what but, they didn't give me a brand new set of keys they gave me an attachment. When I start the car remotely, i cannot open the car either with the keyless entry or by pressing the button is this how it's supposed to work???

If it is a aftermarket remote starter then your Toyota remote will not open the doors if you use starter remote to start car. However your remote from aftermarket starter should open doors. If not I would take it back to dealer and have them correct this.

Like rondia said, if you remote started your car with aftermarket system, you can NOT use original keyfob to unlock/lock doors. You MUST use the aftermarket keyfob to unlock and lock he door.

When ever you get an aftermarket alarm/remote start put in, they give you a remote keyfob. They dont give you a new set of keys.

It would also help if you posted what your remote looks like. Usually they have a name printed on the remote even in small fine print on the back. If not, they probably installed a cheap brand onto you car and charged you more than you should have paid.
