USA Electrical Question ( Airbag light) and mats

I literally just purchased a 2007 Camry LE . I noticed on the test drive that the idiot light on the top of the dash for the passenger air bag constantly stays lit and says "ON" is there any way to get this shut off as that will annoy me to no end?
Also on this car is this one which they were worrying about the mats causing accidents?

There is no way to turn that off unless you take the dash and unsolder the LED. Secondly, its lit up to let you know if the airbag is working or not. Why would it even annoy you if you're suppose to be focusing on the road?

2007-2009 is potential for mats causing problems. However, its not a normal occurrence that the mats will cause accidents. If you're afraid it will cause something dangerous, remove the floor mat.

If the light stays on even if you dont have a passenger, there could be a problem with the airbag. Unless you're saying that it bothers you when it comes on if you do have someone in the seat. If thats the case leave it alone. If it bothers you enough put some black electrical tape on it.

The light stays on while the car is in operation. The only thing that changes are the On or Off words.

Read your Owners Manual for a detailed explanation............

Hook your floor mat or take it out.

The mats are only a problem if you don't hook them on or if you stack up mats on top of others. Mine never move, and I use the all-weather mats.

I picked up the car today and drove it for a couple of hours and the mats never moved. I guess i wont worry about the mats.. and the light isnt as annoying as i thought it would be while driving in daylight. We will see about the night time.Every other car ive had there has never been any kind of airbag light on unless there was a problem with the airbag system.
I gotta say im really impressed with the car and how it drives and handles.
Id love to read the owners manual but they didnt give me one in the car... Only one key too and its got the remote in it. I had the dealer make me two of the non remote keys with the chip in them so I wont be totally lost if i lose a key.

Owner's manual - I think you can see a lot of it at Toyotaownersonline.com, or just buy one (probably $20). Yes, the mats will be fine as long as you use the clips and use only one - nothing to worry about. This was made into a huge event by the media. The mats will never be a problem if you follow those two rules. The idiot dealership in California caused this whole problem.

Airbag light - I thought it was weird at first, now I don't notice it.
