Question rear 6x9 speaker replacement

I've got a 2005 camry and I've replaced the front door speakers which went fine and now want to replace the rear 6x9 speakers. The model number is JBL 86160 - AA410.

It seems that I can't replace them with just any 6x9 speakers.

I've tried JVC (which is the same set as the new front speakers), Sony, and hooking up various boom box speakers just to test them. What happens is that any of these new speakers sound very tinny and barely audible compared to the front speakers and dashboard speakers. The original 6x9 speakers are bassy and their volume is in sync with the front speakers.

I'm wondering if there is any particular specifications that I should be looking for in the new set of back 6x9 speakers. Also if anyone has the specifications for these oem JBL 86160 - AA410 speakers, that would be greatly appreciated.

Here is a link to the original rear speakers:

Well I had a 93 XLE and had the same problem, there was a bracket that wa permenantly attached to the factory speaker. So what i did is get some removable silicone caulk, put it around edge of the opening and dropped the speaker in and that worked for about five years. I had a pair of Infinity Kappa's that i loved.

the OEM rear speaker racks + holes are bigger than the aftermarket one... So I think the best and easy way is to drill new holes. You can drill on the bottom, ie open the trunk measure the holes then drill.

When drilling you should go with the smaller drill head (about 1 number) first then put the drill head same side as the screws to finish. For ex: the screws are side 10. First I will use drill head side 8 or 9 make a hole, then put side 10 in to finish. Remember put glasses on...
