Lightbulb Camry vs. Cadillac CTS

This is another one of those "should I trade/sell my camry?" threads.

Basically I found an amazing deal on an 06 CTS fully loaded with a 6 speed manual. I'm seriously considering it, but to afford it I will have to part with my beloved Gen 5
Basically I would be upgrading from an 03 Camry to an 06 CTS and spend only about $2000. I test drove it and the handling and driving experience is excellent, almost as good as German.

I always thought that I would keep my camry forever, but lately I've been really bored with the car, especially the piss poor handling & acceleration.

I'm posting this thread so I can read about how this would be a huge mistake and how the quality and reliability of the CTS is complete shit and the camry is wayy better. It will help me make a more balanced decision.

thanks.

i have never driven in a CTS before, but ive driven the newer STS. It is an amazing beast. The only drawback i see is that it is still FWD(IIRC) and maintenance issues, but i would check out CTS forums to see what, if any, problems are arising in the 06 CTS's

Have U test drove it?

Seem like U R happy with the CTS so go for it. And after my Gen 6 Camry, I am very disappointed as well.

I would certainly trade a Gen5 or 5.5 Camry for a CTS. However if you have a Gen6 with the V6, I would not trade.

If i HAD a Gen6 i would trade it in a heartbeat..

But having the Gen 5...i'd think about it. I personally hate the styling of the CTS's But it is manual, and rwd ......so go for it.

LOL what are you talking about? The Gen6 might not have the built quality of the Gen5 but it's got infinitely better looks from any angle and a proper potent V6 engine.

It is your opinion and that's what the OP is asking for.

I like the look of the Gen6 but too many problems. While the earlier Camry's are more better built, they look "old" and "granpa style".
