Car Radio and Airbags

Hi,

This is a really stupid question and I tried googling it, but I guess I don't know how to search for it.

I purchased a USA SPEC PA15-TOY so I can use my iPod with my 2005 Camry (non JBL).

I have noted that some installation guides noted that you should remove the negative battery cable to prevent the the air bags from going off. Is this really a concern?

I have no problem removing the cable, but I would like to test the adapter before I put everything back in. I want to the know how I might set off the air bags, say will they set off if the radio is totally disconnected as an anti-theft measure?

Just avoid any YELLOW wire. All of the SRS system (air bag) wires are yellow. I would just disconnect it to be safe anyway
