Exclamation 2009 Camry 10K Miles. Rough idle when in gear, please help!

This is my first post in this forum. I just bought a 2009 Camry LE (4 cylinder) about a week ago. It's only got 10K miles on it. Ever since I got the car, I've noticed a very slight vibration when stopped and in gear. It does this when the engine is cold and warm. It only does this when im in gear with my foot on the brake and stopped.

I still have warranty, should I bring it in to the dealer? Is there a simple fix for this? Or is this normal? Thanks

Ok, i'll bring it to the dealer. Just so I know what to tell them, does anyone know what the actual problem is? If I dont know what's wrong myself, they can easily say "we cant find a problem" or "it's normal" or something.

Welcome to Gen 6 Camry. It's more common than you can imagine. A simple Google search will verify this.

Exactly how much vibration are you feeling? You drive a four-cylinder Camry, it's not going to idle silently and vibration-free like an LS430. A little vibration is normal. The V6 is better in that respect but all engines will vibrate a little while idling and in gear.

It's a slight vibration that I can feel in the steering wheel and when I lean my head against the headrest. Sometimes the vibration feels a little stronger than other times but the vibration doesn't feel horrible. I'm just concerned because sometimes it doesn't do it and other times it does. It's a brand new car and I've never felt this type of thing in other cars I have driven.

same thing happened to mine, they said it was some sort of carbon build up that caused it. the dealer did whatever they did and it was smooth and quiet like a baby again for some time. but it just started doing it alil so i plan to take it back

It's an I4.. The added strain from the AC/heater will cause more vibration at idle.

if it only happens when in drive and with the Ac or heat on, it very well may be an engine problem with the idle rpm...you need to take it to a toyota dealer...now!

ok now im confused. some people say take it to the dealer, some people say its normal. I need to know if it's normal or not so when I do go to the dealer, they won't try and screw me or tell me its "normal".
