AM reception for after market deck

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone having issue with their AM reception after putting in after market deck.

Like my installer said he installed it correctly (correct harness) and FM reception was really good.

Just AM is very bad reception. Anyone know if this would be a bad install or deck problem?

Thanks,

Deck is JVC KD-R400 and 2007 Camry SE

It is the big fat orange wire with a metal connector at the tip of it.

It plugs right into the back of your new head unit. Very hard to miss.

There's probably not a place to plug it in or the installer would have done it rather than hid it.

He can say many things and make you believe it. If he did indeed connect it like he said, it probably got disconnected when he went to put the unit in.

I don't know what is going on with this.

Tried 3 different decks (model/brand) AM still sounded awful. Then when hooked back to original deck is good. We even tried to modify the connector and it was all the way in for full contact.

Would a bad harness wiring do this? Like it should be plug and play with that antenna cable.
