5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
So yesterday, I was running an errand during my lunch break and I noticed something on my interior door panel. Right above the interior door handle but below the ledge where the window is, I see a gap. The length of it what seems to be popped out is shown with my fingers.
I tried pushing it in and nothing. I tried pushing the side closest to the dash (where my index/middle finger is) and nothing. I looked at my passenger side and its fine.
How is this panel held in place? Is this covered under warranty? Any possible way to fix this if its not held in place with clips or something? I'm just afraid that it would pop out even more.
I didnt take apart or mess with my door panel. Only time the entire door panel was removed was when I had my windows tinted and alarm installed which was a year and a half ago.
Hey Tim is the car still under warranty?...call ur local stealership and talk to them or pull the panel off and have a look.I have the same thing going on with the front passenger door since day 1 but nvr bothered to address it.

I've owned the car for approximately a year and a half and have about 23,000 miles. I hate the local dealerships near me. They are aholes. I rather take the longer drive and go to Sunrise.
Is yours as bad as mine? I'm just afraid its going to pop off completely.

I've looked on the passenger side and theres no gap. I wonder if anyone else has this problem.
I've looked at DIY pictures to see if there was a clip or anything behind it. Its been too cold to do it and when I get home its dark out.
Went to dealership near my job. Guy said its not held in by clips or anything and it probably flexed from weather. I did have my vent aim in that location when I had the heat on and that could be the cause. He said if it gets worse, bring it back.
Others have experienced the same problem so its not out of the ordinary. If biglou had it for a year or two like that and its fine, I'm not going to make a big deal out of it.
Just curious to know if anyone else had this problem and if it was repairable.
my grandafthers 08 LE had the same thing. I took off the interior pannel and put it back on and it went away. I guess one of the clips wasent clipped all the way. One of the ones closer to the mirror on the inside.

I had the same problem right after I replaced the speakers. I brought it back to the installer and he knew right away one of the clip wasn't properly "click" so he took the panel out and realign it again then it was perfect.
Hope that help.

ahh quit your whining Tim and take the panel off! you gotta undress her and move to 2nd base sometime! lol
lol, I just got to second base with Tim's car. We took of the panel and checked all the bolts and rescrewed all the screws but it didnt help at all. His dealer said it was due to the heat but I doubt that but there was no problems with the panel. No broken clips or anything

Was putting LEDs not enough? What about swapping the headlights and taillights? I got the front and back. I even went underneath! That should be homerun!

Sorry Tim, I tried
Thanks again Drew for the help. Now we have to figure out the side mirror wires.
So as long I know its not going to pop off or come out anymore, I'll live with it.
