hi all, i'm still waiting for my owner's manual to arrive from my dealership. got my 2010 camry used, so didn't come with one.
i've been wondering about this box here. it looks like there's some slits in there like for a mic or something. at first i thought it's one of those garage opener receivers, but not sure.
The item you have circled is a blanking panel. For those with moonroof, the switches for that go there. For those with the garage door opener, same deal. If you have the Bluetooth head unit, the microphone goes behind those slits. Otherwise, that panel does not come off.
ic. i'm interested in getting either the BT or the garage unit. for the garage unit.. i wasn't able to find that from the toyota website under accessories. is that something purchased elsewhere? right now i'm putting my garage opener in the coin box.
That is where I installed the microphone from my Toyota BLU Logic handsfree system. It made for a perfect location for the mic. Never had a single person complain about not being able to hear me. Plus it's super stealth and factory looking.

anyone know?
As stated by others, thats for BT microphone. If you had sunroof, that is also where your sunroof buttons would be located as well as front dome light button would be.
Since you dont have a sunroof, your dome light is in the middle. I dont think there is a light in the middle of the two map lights (from what I remember when doing the LED list).

Sorry but you're wrong. The compartment closer to the windshield (left/underneath/opposite side of lights) is the sunglasses holder.
It's microphone for bluetooth. I think it even said it in the owner manual.

thanks guys. guess it's time to search the forum on how to install the blulogic BT. but need to find 1 first.. lol
Here ya go. I'll save you the trouble. These are the instructions provided when you buy the BLU Logic kit. You should be able to locate a kit from your local Toyota Parts Dept.

thanks man!!! u the man~
the dealer just dropped off the owner's manual and the additional key. now i just need to go in the dealership to get it cut and programmed. they should do that for free right?
^^ Glad to help. There aren't too many folks on here that have experience with BLU Logic. Heck, most of the dealerships in my area didn't know what I was talking about when I tried to buy it. I ended up getting it from Sparks Toyota in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. They had the best price and super fast shipping too. The kit is a pretty easy install.

I was wondering why a lot of new owners would throw the owner's manual away.

cool. also, another thing is i notice i need to disconnect the battery. on my civic, once i do that and upon reconnecting it, my factory stereo ask me for the security code. does the camry factory sound system does that as well?
i got the car used, so i'm not sure what the code would be in case if i need one. any ideas??
