First Mod Done ! Valentine One hidden away !

So, the mods have begun. I love my Valentine One. I hardwired it in tonight and ran all the cables. Everything was going well. Until I tried to find a place to mount the remote display..

I live in Virginia and have always run the remote display out of the eyes of the law. The V1 was already hidden away in it's pouch (it's a visor tissue box). Where to mount the remote dispaly...

I looked up on the dash and saw the clock, security, and air bag display.. hmmm. I gentley tugged on it and I was able to pull the entire unit out. It is only held on by clips.

I took the unit apart and realized with a little cutting with the dremel I could have my V1 display nicely hidden away behind the tinted glass... Bingo I started cutting and sure enough it fits perfect..

I will post pictures in the AM it is hard to capture but you can see the L from the display and nothing else

Nice and clean no one will ever even know it's there until I have an alert !

This is how I have my V1. My remote display is above my nav in front of the air vent.

These pictures are old...I have since done a "fake" hardwire (rain longest phone cord that V1 has and ran it through top, down pillar and into cig adapter in cubby)

This is what you should do

I changed the band color. At night time, it makes a HUGE difference. You can also change the strength color as well (green for the first 2-3, yellow for the middle 2-3 and red for the last 3) With the display being all red and you not knowing what is what, I can easily tell if the signal is a threat or not.

Get a Escort 9500i. Its stealth and wont be picked up by the police radar detector detector.

the best is the bel STI. Lots of RD's claim to be undetectable by RDD's but the STI is the only one that's really undetectable.

I'm also very interested in how you set this up. I was going to invest in an STI, but I want it completely invisible in case I get pulled over for something else. As soon as the cop walks up to the driver's side window he would see it if it was mounted under the rearview.

I had an escort confiscated from me by the OPP on the 401 in Ontario Canada. He pulled me over after his RDD went off. RD's are illegal everywhere in Canada except Alberta and BC.
