2007 w bad ECU?

I did some searchin here and on Camryforums.com, but to no avail. My wife has a 2007 Camry LE w/87k. Don't ask, kids events, 50mil roundtrip to work, etc....LOL. Well it recently started running crappy and the service engine light came on. Took it in and the dlr said it was bad gas. Dropped the tank and flushed fuel, changed fuel filter. Now he thinks the ECU is bad, but he wont commit. Seems like he is racking up diagnostic time while fishing for a solution, he said he alread has 6hrs in diag? What is your maig machin for then...LOL I did get him to email me the the diag codes before and after. I'm wondering if he thinks its the computer, why not just swap it to see if the remaining codes go away instead of logging more diag time? Here are the before and after codes he emailed. Any thoughts?

(codes were in system before service)
Po0057 oxygen sensor heater control circuit low (bank 2 sensor 2)
Po161 oxygen sensor heater circuit (bank 2 sensor 2)

Po303 cylinder 3 misfire detected
Po304 cylinder 4 misfire detected
Po305 cylinder 5 misfire detected

Check the EFI3 fuse, might be open....

While at it, verify all of your fuses.

Just a suggestion.

Thanks for the feedback. Its still at the dlrship. I looked up the new codes, seems like someme may have left something loose when they drained the fuel.

Assuming the fuses are fine, maybe it is time to change the spark plugs.

Dlr called today. They are going to replace the #2 coil and the O2 sensor. I guess we'll know the results by EOD.

Wow.. My solution for all my SE '07 V6 problems was... sold the car.

That car was full of problems.

The two error code I got were (@ 57K miles on the odo):

P0022 -- "A" Camshaft Position timing over-retarded (Bank 2)

P0354 -- Ignition coil D Primary Malfunction

they moved the coil and the problem followed so they replace the coil and it's fine. $260 paid.

did U get any extra warranty? Yours is 87K, not even the power train thing covers.

If U plan to keep the car, U might want to look into this Powertrain warranty & Fault code . Goodluck.

Thanks, I'll check into that. Because of the anticipated driving with kids acitivites and 50mi rountrip to work, we did get an 100k extended warranty. I'm sure the dealer wiill try to make sure none of this is covered though.... lol

The extra warranty is a joke. The list of what is EXCLUDED is longer than the list of what is INCLUDED.

same boat here, well at least mileage wise. right at 86k for an 07 bought in Dec of 06. Also ECU's are hard to replace via Toyota's requirements.

Double check your warranty book, look under "Emmissions Controls" area. The warranty for emmissions controls items are FAR LONGER than standard mechanical parts, you may be covered for all work you are having done to correct your problems. Just a suggestion.

The ECM is under federally mandated warranty for 8 years or 80K miles. Your a little over that 80K miles mark though. Not sure if your extended warranty covers it or not. For an 07 its not as simple as swapping the ECM for testing. As with most newer cars the ECM has to be coded to the vehicle and once thats done your cant return it or send it back. As far as I know ECM failure is not a common issue on those so they probably done even stock it. Is sure sounds like they are just trying to throw parts at it though.
