I have an issue with what sounds like the rear deck rattling in my 2010 SE Camry.
I can hear it almost every time my back wheels hit any small bump in the road.
I also have subwoofers installed along with dynamat in most of the trunk (just not on the rear deck). This is my main reason for wanting this solved. The rattle is very noticeable when the bass hits in almost every song.
Does anybody else have this issue? Is that where the rattle is coming from?
hit the rear deck with some sounddeadening, pressure from the bass can make the speakers buzz & rattle also.
Thanks for the quick reply.
I had a full dynamat trunk kit along with an extra wedge pack. I took it in to a local shop and had them install everything along with the dynamat. I thought that the rear deck would be one of the main places they would hit with the dynamat, but when the car came out it had none there. I asked the guy about it directly and he claimed that "it usually is not necessary in that location". I knew he had to be wrong but this confirms it.

yup it happened when i first got my 09 camry i installed my system in it, lol i know its a really annoying sound. its caused by the back panel hitting up against the back glass. what i did was just applied second skin sound dampilifier throught the whole back panel, esp along where the the panel and the glass meets. there's no more rattling in my car now.

Did you get to all of that from the trunk? Or did you have to apply any deadening material from the cab of the car?

you have to remove the rear deck panel, since you have a SE model i think you have to take out the seats to get to the rear deck since your seats don't fold down. i have a LE model. I applied deadening material in the rear deck after removing the panel. i also applied deadening material in my trunk.

Thank you so much for that info. I hope removing the seats is not too difficult.

your welcome. you can double check try googling or search on here. im pretty positive that the seats need to be removed to get to the rear deck in the SE model.
or you can go the cheaper route and get the thin weather strip foam (for your home's door jamb), and run that along the rear deck where it meets the glass.

im not sure if the se and xle decks are the same but my seats don't fold down and i don't have to take the seats out...just pull side panels off then the rear deck pops out...the thing is the plastic tabs that pop the panels into place usually break, so u might wanna get some extra ones from autozone....and goodluck trying to stop the rattle,if u find a solution let me know lol...my solution so far is to turn it up lol

oh and your local shop is wrong the more matteing the better...i have my whole car done....but it still don't fix the rear deck because the deck is plastic and somehow bounces up between the back glass and metal of the car....the real solution in my opinion is proley make a fiberglassed mold out of rear deck to make a deck that heavy and wont move

How do you remove the panel? There are side panels which are airbags too, do I have to remove them too? I appreciate your reply greatly, Thanks.

The rear side panels just pops off, there held in my green push pin type clips, just start at the top and work your way down the sides and i think each side has about 4-5 clips. Then for the back dash you just lift up on the front part (the part that is facing the seats) of it and the whole deck should just pop right up.

easiest fix is home depot door foam strips ... along the whole bottom between the deck and the glass, especially by the rear brake light, i also put between the side panels and the glass where the air bag is ... i was getting vibration their too
