Hissing noise from my 07 camry

Every time i press on the brakes or move the streeing wheel lightly i hear a hissing noise? the hissing noise coming from under the streeing wheel.
can you guys help me find out what it is?
I took it to the dealer he said is normal ???!!

Did you get a sound system installed recently? One of my mates got his done and straight after noticed something similar.

Have you checked the level of fluid in your power steering system? Could be a problem with the power steering pump. That's where I'd start.

@Dealer, but did you do anything to the car recently?

Like maybe install Fujita Cold Air Intake cause I hear a hiss all the time :P

This is actually a known issue and is covered by a TSB. My car has this problem also and basically makes this noise any time I am braking at low speeds. It is something related to a brake pump or valve that is located within the dash immediately to the left and below the steering column.

Someone else posted the TSB info about 3-6 months ago, I think, but I couldn't find the post.

There was a TSB (ST002-07) on ticking noises because of poor lubrication of the steering column intermediate shaft. Not sure about brake/steering related hissing. Sounds like some kind of pump problem as mentioned.

So did you get the pedal recalled?
