Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
It would help if my wife didn't hit curbs all the time, but her '04 Camry has been out all 4 hubcaps for over a year. As a matter of fact, I see Camry's missing hubcaps all the time. The plastic tabs break and they fall off during normal driving---one fell off as she left the grocery store parking lot. I'd like to put new hub caps on as my daughter drives it now. The problem is the dealer wants $95 a pop for them. Thats robbery. Any suggestions??
$95 a pop for hubcaps? You might as well get rims. I got a set of these exact rims in 17" for $99 each. Had them for over a year and they have been great so far. Much better than my American Racing rims that got bent and warped after driving over potholes. And if your wife covers them in curb rash, who cares? only $4 more than plastic hubcaps from the dealer
I was thinking the same thing, but I didn't know you could get decent rims that cheap?
You should be able to get them for even cheaper than I did.
I bought mine in Canada, where things are generally much more expensive than in the US, from a local chain called Scotia Tire. And if you want to keep the tires that are on your wife's car now, then 15" or 16" rims should be even cheaper than 17"

Could you imagine the lip of the rims if his wife drives it? He would have to pay to get them fixed every so often. You can always go with the hubcap spinners, those are always entertaining to see LOL - boggle my mind on why someone paid to put those on their car.

Like I said, even if his wife curb rashes the sh** out of them it won't really matter because they only cost $4 more than dealer hubcaps so there would be nothing to get angry about. And at least the rims won't fall off when she hits the curb, so he wont have to keep buying multiple sets of hubcaps
I run these rims in the winter on 215-50-17 studded tires. I really dont care about the road salt and winter damage because the rims cost less than half of what the tires did. I also find them to be much better in the snow and ice than the stock 205-65-15.
I got my rims for Discount Tire and they had rims starting out at around $60 a piece, and they were actually decent looking too. I'd just get rims if I were you. It'll enhance the look of the car A LOT.
