hey guys ive been looking at exhaust options for my car and i came across a clip of a guy running a Cherry Bomb Extreme setup with the stock resonator still in place. the set up sounded very deep and muscle car like.
what im wondering is if anyone out there has this on there V6 camry and how do they like it. also is the exhaust is to loud?
i also like the fact that these mufflers are cheap too. you can get them for like 50 bucks shipped. makes me wonder why more of you guys don't have these on your cars... is there something i dont know maybe?
btw here is the clip

Sounds like any other custom muffler setup to me. If you want something louder and deeper, your going to have to remove the resonator with any customer dual muffler. There's tons of variations on what custom one to go for, ranging from Apexi, HKS, Tanabe, Mangaflow, Vibrant, TRD, and a couple others that members have used on these boards.

thanks for the input guys, i like the magnaflow sound too. wish i could find the mufflers for cheaper then 150 though. after getting them installed and resonator removed it be close to 600 bucks. i might as well shell out a little more and get the TRD at that point since the price of them has come down lol

Yeah, but if you like the magnaflows, then getting a place to run straight piping straight back from your cat shouldn't be that hard. I mean yeah, it won't be mandrel bent or anything, but for an exhaust on a Camry? It's fine. I got mine done with stainless steel piping from catback to dual mufflers, and places charge around 250-350 with parts & labor.

yeah but like i said at that point i might as well get the TRD catback its like 690 shipped which isnt that much more then a custom. If i went the route i wont have to bring my car to a shop and all that cuz i could just install it myself.
ive been looking for the specs on the TRD catback all i could find is that the pipes after the split off are 55mm(2.17") coming out of the muffler compared to 45mm stock. could i assume that the mid pipe section would then be 2.5" ?
anyone have any ideas on the specs of the pipes on the TRD catback?
thanks guys

If you have a v6 it gonna be expensive, the TRD 690 i think only for v4...
You can go the cheaper way by getting 2 muffler and a cross pipe... then ask the shop do your custom. it gonna be cheaper then buy a whole set and you can choose what ever side of the pipe as you want... The sound gonna be louder if you delete resonator. Don't go too big because you might loss power (2.25-2.5 is ok for the OEM header since the pipe from header to resonator is 2.5)
I got a 4cly, did a custom 2.25 pipe from resonator to magnaflow muffler with tip cost total 225 bucks...
im just trying to find the specs on it... as far as i know it even deletes the resonator. but you say the stock pipping is 2.5? so im gonna guess that the TRD is atleast that as well but has larger pipping from the end split all the way threw the mufflers. thanks for your input

after looking at the TRD thread, I would rather go with customize path... sound not that loud since it has resonator inside the muffler which you cannot do anything to fix, go with customize you can delete or keep resonator. In addition, They just change the muffler over OEM, so if you want like the TRD y not just get 2 mufflers and use the stock pipe...
