Gen6 speaker glued to mount?

Hello, I ordered some speakers and I am in the process of putting them in. i finally figured out how to take off the door panel. s for the stock premium speaker, Icant seem to seperate it from the mount that holds it. It seems to be glued. Is it suppose to come off or am I suppose to buy new mounts. The speaker I am replacing it with is a JBL p963. I read that this speaker is suppose to drop right in without any modification. So what is the deal with this mount?

Speaker is attached to the metal bracket that surrounds it. All you have to do is remove the 4 bolts that hgold the speaker to the door.

You will need new speaker brackets to mount the new speakers to the existing bolt holes.

I was able to re-use the speaker mounts that were used for the premium jbl speaker. I just had to pry the speaker off after i removed the top 4 blots. There is a layer of adhesive the connects the speaker to the mounts. I pryed it off with a butter knife. I replaced it becuase I thought the speaker had blown, but it seems fine. When I put the new speaker in it sounded the same....
are midrange speakers just for bass ...i dont hear much voice coming out of them. The one I have is a 3-way speaker.
