5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Went to the dealer today for recalls on my 07 Camry SE V6 and was looking through the new car lot and saw a dual exhaust SE with a I4 engine. I questioned the sales person about this and he looked it up and it was a factory special order. Has anyone else seen one of these on a new factory car? I didn't know they would do this but I don't know of any way to tell the difference if I saw one driving on the road. They look exactly the same!
funny thing, i went to my local dealership to test drive a v6 SE.... after we got out of the car I asked to look under the hood, and what do you know? guy took me on a test drive in an i4...hahaha

Yup, the 2010 Camry SE I4 is the only I4 with dual exhaust. It is the exact same muffler as the V6 (same part number). 2007-2009 Camry SE I4's have single exhaust, as do the 2010 Camry I4 non-SE models.
2010 carried quite a few changes over 09, the dual exhaust on the SE was just one of them. As was stated, it is a standard feature on the SE, and not optional.
Cause the I4 have dual exhausts in the newer models, does this mean they lose some "kick" in the high RPM range but gain in the lower range compared to the models with only a single exhaust?
If what you saw was single exhaust, its 2009. The taillights give it away as to what year it is.
