Airbag light on the instrument cluster is ON!!! And the engine seems going wrong!!!

I have a 2004 I4 Camry SE, and I just installed a remote starter for it by myself. However, the airbag light is ON after everything is set. I believe I did not messed around with the airbag wire(s), but I had unplugged the main ignition harness for once while I was tapping those remote starter's wires. I do not know is it really the reason that turns the airbag light on.

The light is making me nervous!!! What should I do?

I have called to those dealership places. They say it gonna cost $90 for them to scan it. I don't really want to pay that money. Is there a way to fix it other than going to them?

I (am pretty sure 80%) did not touch any yellow wire(s). What I did just unplugged the Ignition harness plug. Unless there is a yellow wire(s) that links to that plug (<---- that is the unsure part), but I don't think so.

Reset your ECU maybe? Unplug your battery and leave it for a few hours then plug it back in.

Do you mean the big, rectangular-box battery under the hood? Will it mess up any other instruments in the car?

I assume you mean the light is on with no one in the seat -- whenever I have a passenger, the "ON" light is on, and when my son sits in the front (just to drive it into the garage, otherwise he's in in the back) the "OFF" light is on.

Otherwise, yeah, I would try re-setting via disconnecting the negative cable, then re-connecting after a few minutes.

I'm pretty sure it's always on. It just says Airbag OFF if no on is in the passenger seat and Air bag ON if someone is in the passenger seat. I don't notice it much anymore so i can't be 100%.

^^^Nah your right Redline thats exactly how the airbag is displayed. I always notice this because when I have something heavy in my passenger seat the annoying "put your seatbelt on" tone keeps going off.

I know what you are talking about, but it is not the one. It is the one that is on the techno meter.

If I remove the battery, will it mess up my factory car alarm system?

Mine is only on when someone (or something) is in the seat. Airbag "on" when an adult (or large enough) passenger is in the front seat, or Airbag "off" when someone small (my sixty pound son) or something smaller (like my 15-20 pound bag) is on there. Otherwise it's off.

Ok, the one that usually just illuminates when you start the car to let you know it's prepping the airbag? I'm going to guess sensor.

I just buckle my bag in place. No sense in my laptop flying around if I'm in an accident, or if I have to brake suddenly. I used to keep it in the trunk, but didn't want to keep opening/closing the trunk when it's perfectly fine sitting next to me.
