5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I'm having trouble finding a part number for a bank 2 sensor 2 oxygen sensor for my 2009 Camry LE V6. The car has ~38k miles on it, and code P0156 continues to come back after 2 resets, meaning that sensor needs replaced.
The problem is that I can't find the part number anywhere. I've tried calling Autozone, Advance Auto Parts, and Pepboys, and they all tell me they don't have a part listed for O2 sensor, stating it's "likely too new for that part to be in their systems."
I also did a search here, and couldn't find anything for the 2009 V6.
Can anyone help me find this part number?

1. The code does NOT mean that the sensor needs to be replaced. It is one of the malfunctions that could throw that code.
How would I go about figuring out which of these issues it is? Would it be easier to just replace it and see if that takes care of the issue?
Most of the diagnosis requires a dealers Intelligent tester but you can check voltage/resistance at the ECM connector and oxygen sensor connector (looking for voltage or an open or short) using an ohmmeter and your Service Manual.
Parts changing is one way of auto mechanics......in this case most of the causes are a bad sensor.
I'm not sure about your emissions warranty in NY. But I think NY and MA also uses CA emissions?? If so your emissions warranty may be longer than the standard Federal warranty?

The P0156 (Bank 2, Sensor 2) code is now gone, but it is now throwing a P2197 (Bank 2, Sensor 1 stuck lean) code.
I'm confused as all hell. I'm going to call the dealer and see if this might be covered under the 5/yr-60k warranty, but I doubt it. Previous searches regarding 02 sensors has turned up results that dealers are stating O2 sensors are under the 3/yr-36k that I am already past.
...as a side note, these codes didn't start coming until 2 days after I had the gas pedal recall done at the dealer. Could it possibly be linked to that?

My Warranty manual says CA, MA, ME and VT for CA emissson system.

Just happened to me as well. had gas pedal update done and 2 days later vsc, skid and check engine lights on. Toyota tech says O2 sensor and some other sensor on exhaust manifold is gone. And none of it is related to update. I'm not buying it. Plus, the new sensors will not fit in my manifold. They want $1200 for a manifold and 2sensors. I find it hard to believe there update isn't related to this.
