Camry Trunk spring

There appear to be plenty of posts about adjusting trunk springs. How about reinstalling a spring that came loose? I've got an '03 LE. I can’t seam to budge my spring. It appears that it should be turned prior to putting the ‘U’ shaped section back into the bracket. Do I need special tools? What direction do I pretension? Should the ‘U’ section be pushing up on the bracket?

Hey, I moved your thread from the intro section to the Camry section. These guys really know the Camry and can help you.
A pic might help.

If you're talking about the white plastic piece in the middle where both of them meet. You should be able to pull and push it up into place.

No, I’m talking about the torsion spring rod itself. It came out of the holes at the end and the bracket at the ‘U’ shaped portion. The rod is hanging loose.

ohh so you see the hook then. If you pull back the cover you should be able to see the hole where the hook is supposed to be. Just match it to the other side. Use some muscle, you should be able to put it back in.
