Camry 06 CD player doesn't work

Hi, I bought a new cd receiver to replace the stock 06 Camry receiver last week, i put in the new receiver and it was working fine until today. Today when i turned on the car, the radio tuner was full of static. So i turned the car off, pulled the receiver out (I never put the climate control panel back because i wasn't satisfied with the receiver i bought and a new one's going arrive tomorrow), made sure none of the wirings are touching anything, put it back in, and now the whole thing wouldn't turn on. I see that the power light is on, but noen of the buttons did anything. So to test I exchanged it back to the stock camry receiver and that wouldn't turn on either! I'm not sure what i did that could possibly cause this situation, I don't think i short wired anything because the new receiver did work for a week or so. Has anyone ever had this happen or any suggestions? Please help!
