Please help: Horn toots when starting

I have a 2005 Camry SE with 65k miles. When I engage the starter with the ignition key, the horn gives 2 short toots during ignition. I don't see any other problem related to this. It is just annoying. This happened for a short time a year ago and stopped. It started again a few months ago and has continued consistantly. Any suggestions??

Have you changed your car battery? It's about due, the low voltage when cranking may be causing the strange behavior....

Actually, I replaced the battery about 6 months ago. Since my last post, I noticed that the beeps happen when I turn the key to the on position, whether I crank the engine or not. I still have no idea as to the cause.

Does the vehicle have an alarm system installed?

Not that I am aware of, other than the stock factory system initiated by the alarm button on the key fab. I bought it used in 2008.

Only thing I can think of is that it's had an alarm installed in the past?

Check under the steering column and around the ignition harness, see if any of the wires are spliced into or if there is any aftermarket alarm modules hidden.
