Need Help!!! 04 Camry Wont Start!

My 04 camry wouldnt start this morning. Kind of made an offer and then died. I cranked it again and it started and idled very low (sounds like its on 3 cylinders) and it would not respond to the accelerater being pressed at all. No change in sound or engine speed.

Thought one cyl might have been flooded so I tried again when i got of work with the same results. Very hard to start and after a few tries it will start and idle low with no gas control.

Any suggestions?

How many miles on it? Could be a bad throttle body, which is a common problem on these cars. Do a forum search......

I bought a scanner and got P2112. Throttle Actuator Control System. –Stuck Closed.

So does this mean that the throttle body definately needs to be replaced? It was fairly frosty this morning. Could moisure or anything be a problem?

Tried clearing the code tonight and starting again and got P2102 THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL MOTOR CIRCUIT LOW.

Just started to pull off the throttle body. I got the intake hose off and the butterfly wont turn at all with my fingers on it. Should i be able to turn it?

I got the throttle body off. Wasnt too hard to remove it. Brought it inside to take a closer look and the vent (im assuming its a vent) on the bottom had some ice in it. Laid it next to the heater for a while and a TON of dirty water came out of it. Like probably over 2ozs. And now the butterfyl turns freely. So there was obviously water inside that froze jamming it.

Great job Toyota, cant even design a sensible vent system. Now im out almost $1000 for this part just becase water got in it. This is ridiculous. At least it didnt stick open on me like it did for some.

I have a 2003 Camry. (2AZ-FE engine) I took out my throttle body assembly and cleaned the whole unit with throttle body spray cleaner just for routine preventitive maintenance. Then I decided to clean the whole thing with goop hand cleaner and water...what a bad mistake. I found out that one of the metal tubes on the throttle body appears to go to the throttle body sensor. (probably a vent tube like MMurray70 mentioned) When I put it back together on my car I have been getting a P0121 mil code.
I took apart the air intake and took out the the throttle body and found out that the butterfly would get stuck when moving it. A mechanic friend of mine recommended to spray electronic contact cleaner inside the tube, drain it and then force compressed air into it. All I did was to spray photographic can of air into the tube while moving the butterfly...the butterfly runs smoothly now!

I will put it back into my car and see what happens. If this works, then I will recommend everybody to try using this cleaning method before buying a $1000 new throttle body.

UPDATE: I used CRC's 2-26 mulitpurpose cleaner to clear out moisture and oxidation into the metal tube that goes to the throttle position sensor. You can find this cleaner at Home Depot in the electrical department.
You can read about the product on this website: http://www.reliablepaper.com/Product...005&Click=8115

Don't waste $1,000 to get a new throttle body. The butterfly runs smoothly and the mil code P0121 has ben cleared !
