USA or Japan replacement parts

I've got a 2003 USA built Camry and I'm needing to replace the coil packs, does it matter which parts I use, whether it be USA or Japan or a combination of both? Other than the price of the Japan parts being more expensive I don't see the difference, any help?

If one part fit both cars fine, there wouldn't be two part numbers..........

In some cases there are different part numbers for US or Japan made cars. But if there is only one part number then it doesn't matter. It's made to the same specs.

So one part number for USA and a different part number for japan is the same part but different specs, I understand, so I shouldn't use two USA ignition coil packs with two japan ignition coil packs since they may have different specs. I think I get it now, thanks.

No, you don't get it. Give the parts folks your VIN number. They in turn will look up the proper part number for your specific vehicle.

I recently purchased some fastener hardware for my Camry and the dealer had two part numbers for what seemed to be identical parts, but one manufactured in US, one in Japan. I was told in this case they are the same, but have different part numbers due to origin of manufacturer.

Before the accelerator fiasco, I imagine I would have gotten the same reply if I were trying to by an accelerator assy - that they both fit and work the same, but made in different places. Most likely, the dealer will sell you whichever they stock.
