Quick question for you guys with tint on Gen 6

I just had my 09 camry tinted with suntek tint 35% F 25% R. Now I have alot of distortion on my rear glass. Headlight reflecting on rear defroster lines. Extremely annoying!!! It looks like a million lights when I look through the rear view. Now be easy on me i never had any tint on my cars before this is the first time, is this normal? if so i guess i will just have to get use to it. lol thanks for the help

Mine is clear and i have 20% on top of 35%.

The distortion is supposed to occur, they should have told you about that before they did it... the tint places around my area all tell their customers, before they tint

yeah he didnt tell me, and also its my first time having tint so i didnt know. lol just thought i asked you guys who had a gen 6. so i guess its normal. lol

it's supposed to look "foggy" in the back window for the most part... it'll go away after a week with your tints

make sure not to roll down your windows for at least a few days... I hope the guys told you that at least

I have suntek 30% all around and I love it

I think the problem is where the tint film lays over the defogger on the rear window. It's a bit reflective and where it "humps" over the defogger elements it will reflect light a little. I notice it in both The Daughter's '03 and The Wife's '09. You probably can see it on the side windows over the manufacturer logo down in the corner, too.

Wow don't your police enforce the tint laws?

Toyota windows let in 80% now you have 20% allowed with 35% on top they must look black. I noticed Connecticut law says 35% min. Here in Quebec front sides have to allow 70% min and they enforce it.

most states have different tinting laws, some of them like Florida allow tinting all over (except windshield), some others like New Jersey allow tinting only rears (no limits) and no tint on fronts. for instance New York allows 70% on fronts and rears with exception of rear windshield (no limits). tinting the whole front windshield is illegal everywhere, almost in every country.

don't forget that toyota's factory glass comes "pre-tinted" (70-80% VLT), it's not really a tint, rather a natural VLT of glass they use.

you should comply with your home state tinting laws as you may be ticketed in any state (not only home state) for having illegal tints according to your home state laws. some cops measure VLT fo your tint and compare with a sticker info.
