Got rear ended last week, car seems to be a little bit wobbly
So I got rear ended last week. Superficially, just some scuffs. The body shop looked inside and said nothing else was wrong and they redid the bumper, which looks perfect now.
However, maybe it's just in my head but I got stuck behind a lot of stop and go traffic today (a major accident up ahead), and the car seemed to be more wobbly from side to side just going at maybe 5mph or less. Kind of like micro suspension dampening that shouldn't be happening (like the whole car should not moving, but the suspension should be absorbing it).
Anyway, does that sound like something that can happen from someone rear ending you? Suspension damage? It was a direct hit so the body shop said there was unlikely to any problems at all.
I think I should bring it in to the dealer to have them look at it while the insurance claim (other party has admitted 100% fault) can still cover any damage.
Thoughts?
P.S. - otherwise drives fine at high speeds, though at 33k miles, the car has become more of a rattle box (windows, airconditioner, etc). Sigh @ Toyota.
Damage is possible but highly unlikely at 5 mph. If your body shop is reputable and they say there was no damage to anything but the bumper cover, then the problems are probably all in your head. If for some reason the shop had to remove your rear wheels to repair/replace the bumper cover, maybe they didn't torque down the lug nuts all the way and you are getting some vibration or wheel shifting. At this point I am just guessing, but it might not hurt to check that the lug nuts are torqued down properly.
if you're wobbling at 5mph, it may just be the road surface.
I stopped about 2 feet away from hitting the person in front of me. He hit me around 5-10mph when I was moving between 1-3mph (I let go of the brake as I saw him coming in the rear).
My dad's 08 LE got hit by a brand new and modded Chevy Tahoe around 40 mph, and it still drives like new and even the LED tails are ok, only the bumper, even that you can't really notice the damages. The Camry really have a strong body.

Tall story......
No way it was 40 mph and just needed a bumper cover.....
