Help!
I just picked up my new 2010 Camry 11KM's and from the moment i drove it off the lot this is whats happening.
The steering wheel is always wanting to turn to the right by itself, I have to hold onto the wheel at all times.
There is more resistance turning left then there is turning right.
If im on a flat surface and im coming to a stop the steering will turn itself to the right.
This happens all the time weather im breaking or not.
It seems to me the alignment is off, but what i cant figure out is why its harder to turn left then it is to turn right?
I'm wondering if it could also be a bad tire?
Anyone had this issue with their new Camry???
Thanks!
If it was a balancing issue wouldn't the OP feel a decent amount of vibration through the steering wheel?
yes he obviously would feel the vibration
at 45mph+ the vibration gets really crazy..........
none of us know how fast the OP has even driven the car... or even taken it on the highway.... or to the donut shop... or even drove it after the pull issue they've experienced
UPDATE
First to answer your questions
1) I test drove "A" Camry but not my personal one as they has to ship it in i wanted White.
2) I picked the car up towards the end of the day, by the time I left the dealer they were closed so going back was pointless
Now that we cleared that up here is what im faced with
I took the car back to the dealer, they told me the alignment was off, they re aligned the car and the car STILL PULLS BAD (RIGHT SIDE ONLY)
Whenever I press the breaks the car wants to go right as well
The steering still feels harder to turn left then it is to turn right
It's going back again monday with only 200km.
After the Alignment the steering wheel is not centered anymore
I'm really getting tired of this, cant the dealer just take back this car? Could this be a steering rack issue?
Thanks for your help!
Its a V6 XLE. When it goes back i will ask for a print out of the alignment.
Get the service manager or better his specialist in alignment to go with you for a test drive. Do not take no for an answer and let him drive it. He will see it right away. Might even be a brake grabbing. They do sit around for a bit.
But its brand new. So fully warranty. Insist they give you a loaner on such a new car. Talk to your sales man as well. But make sure you get the rep to drive with you. Call in advance so they can allow him to drive it with you. An if you get a jerk driving it tell him to take his hands off the wheel while driving and touch the brakes. Then let him tell you it is okay (not at high speed).
To me it seems just like what happened to the Big Three has happened to Toyota they got big and lost control of quality at the dealers.
An if it is alignment they have to align with a centered steering wheel, don't let them tell you they cannot. Maybe brakes? Could be the Power steering an issue.
Assuming the alignment was done properly and we can rule that issue out, it is possible that your passenger-front brake caliper is stuck. Normally even a stuck caliper doesn't pull so strongly to the right, but if the piston is really pressed down, it could happen.
Also, you may want to check the tire's air pressure and make sure they are all even. If three of them are at 33psi and one is significantly less (maybe around 25psi or so), that might cause this problem, although it seems very unlikely.
