Hey, thanks for the warm welcome, everyone! Very much appreciated.
@dcemureviews: Thanks for the suggestions! I've moderated a number of forums and participate in enough of them to know the "search before you ask" etiquette, so I know how annoying that can be. lol. I'll be sure to use this thread as my update thread, too. Should be nice to see how the pictures evolve as I do things to my ride over the coming years. =)
@gdanaher: Thanks a lot! Regarding what you said about not being a mechanic, I completely agree. There are DIY projects I will want to undertake, but I'm enough of a realist to not take on more than I am confident I can handle. I'm as astute with computers as folks like you are with vehicles, so I
I guess you could say I'm young but I would perfer "ignorant" (which is why I'm interested in learning about this stuff) as opposed to foolish. I act on the side of caution and rational more than anything else and I certainly don't have deep pockets (though, I wish I did, but who doesn't?), so you won't find me updating my pictures here frequently, lol. I'm more of the "sit back and learn everything for a year" type of guy prior to spending money on something based on a half-hearted understanding, so I'm all for your recommendation of understanding what implementing a tool will result in prior to purchasing it.
Where a system goes, I'm a total audiophile, so there are certainly some features missing that I want to work with (such as the ability to tweak mids via the stock system, which drives me crazy since mids are crucial to a lot of the music I listen to). I'm not one of these hip-hop guys looking to annoy people a mile away with my bass, lol. I'm a classic rock/heavy metal guy, amature producer/hobbyist musician of 14 years, so the audio system will be a long journey of finding what's right for me, personally, in the car. I couldn't care less how things sound to people standing outside of my car so long as I'm satisifed with how things sound inside the car. =) At that, I also understand that the most expensive systems out there are definitely not the best, sans the total expense of a custom system. But enough babbling about that. It's pretty much the *only* thing I'm confident with making my own decisions about where a car is concerned.
Nice to know about what you recommended, and you're absolutely right about me learning that I can't gun it at a light. It feels hella good to be able to bolt up from 55 to 80 on the highway, though. I know there are faster cars than mine, but this is my first car that's anywhere near this powerful, so it feels great to me. I have no problems simply focusing on the presentation of the vehicle if there's really no reason to invest under the hood, so what you said is certainly valuable and I appreciate your feedback.
@Sean89: Thanks so much for the recommendation. Yeah, I'm not too keen on the chrome thing. At some point, I'll want to go with some different rims, but that's about all I plan on changing where anything metallic-looking is concerned. The lights are a good suggestion, too. I've seen a lot of cool ideas here so far that I wouldn't have thought of from all the pics posted. =)
Thanks again for the welcome so far, everyone!
