Question Recommend Struts & Shocks for '05

Can I get your opinion on which brand of struts and shocks to buy for my wife's 05 4 cyl Camry? I'm not looking for anything too hard (think SCCA) or too soft (think Buick) just something that will make it ride comfortably yet not allow for so much body roll that I have to worry about her being able to handle the car in your typical traffic situations i.e. cars pulling out in front of you, merging into your lane etc... She's used to driving my BMW so this is going to be a bit of a different ride for her (and I want my Bimmer back)!

Brands I'm looking at:
KYB
Gabriel
Monroe

Also, do you guys recommend sway bars for the average driver or is this overkill?

Thanks in advance

i would go with OEM struts, OEM SE springs for the better spring rate, and a rear sway bar to help with body roll

^ agreed on all counts. the rear sway bar will definitely narrow the gap between how the camry will handle vs the bmw.

^agree. in fact, keep the le/xle front sway as well. then slap on some oem se or kyb struts and call it a day.

for the extra mile, go for some trd or eibach springs.

i may have one TRD sway bar up for sale soon, it'll be posted in the for sale section of the forum. it's used though (and might have a little rust on it), so if you're looking for new... i'd go here: http://www.trdparts4u.com/scripts/pr...product=276407

How much it costs to install sway bar? What about springs?

i wouldn't know, i've always done the work myself. you should ask around your local area for quotes, each area is different.

though, a sway bar is as easy as it gets... I wouldn't pay to get that installed unless you don't have the proper tools or equipment.
