if you have Optima Yellowtop battery in your Gen 6 Camry, what voltage do you get? Fully charged, after the engine has been turned off for half an hour...

I've had the battery for 6 months. It never went above 12.3 volts in the above scenario. The Toyota dealer claims the generator is fine. The battery dealer replaced the battery 3 times and all three get 12..2 to 12.4 volts. Seems kind of low to me, but the car does start fine....

A fully charged cell generates 2.1 volts times 6 cells equals 12.6 volts. Your volt meter could be off as well, so it is likely just fine. You are worrying about the wrong value. Load the battery with the starter for 5 seconds and see how low the voltage drops, and then how quickly it returns to 12 volts. The alternator should be producing something between 13.5 and 14.3 volts with the engine at idle and the accessories off. The battery will approach the voltage of the alternator until the engine is turned off at which time it will drop back the 12.5 volt range.

I have a yellow top in mine and it stays at 12.2-12-4 after the car has been turned off. I am not sure why it would be a problem, I have even drained the battery down so far that the car didn't start, jumped the car to start it, drove the car for about an hour, and the battery still holds a 12.4 charge.
