Dealership cannot find Camry with options I want :(
I'm looking to purchase another Camry SE during the 0% promo period but the dealer is having a hard time finding a car with the options I want. All I want is an SE similar to what my 09 came with plus a smart start. I want the car to definitely be Gray with charcoal interior have a sunroof, spoiler, JBL 6 disc changer and smart start. The problem the dealer is running into is finding one with the 6 disc changer.
Does anyone know if the dealer would be responsible for installation costs for options you want installed, or should I just have one built with even more specifications? Would that be included in the 0% financing and the dealer said it would take 3 months to build. Can someone please let me know if they've experienced this so I will know how to handle this? I just feel that an upgraded radio should not be causing this much of an issue.
The only thing the dealer would be installing is the remote start.
The JBL system is a factory option - it's not an accessory that can be later installed.
The rear lip spoiler comes with the SE car as well. You can buy one aftermarket and install it too in case you don't get a Camry SE.
I was in a similar situation when I bought my Camry SE V6 3 years ago. I wanted it fully loaded minus the NAV. I decided I'd take any car that was black, white or magnetic grey. The dealer could deliver me a black one first so that's what I now drive.
If I was in your position, I would definitely sacrifice the color choice for 0% financing. Heck, I'd even sacrifice it in order to NOT wait 3 months.

Go to the toyota.com web site and use the build your own, the 6disk jbl is part of a option package that includes a sun roof, etc, you put in your zip code and dealers in your area get back to you!
try another dealership around, maybe that will help
I did and there are not any dealers near that have the JBL changer installed.

LOL! I did find a few with everything just not the JBL changer and that's what I definitely want. For some reason the SE cars are not coming with the changer. The JBL changer can't be installed to the car by the dealership as an option?

I did build one and sent it to the dealer and I also checked pretty much every dealer in Illinois for that darn radio and their SE do not have it. It's crazy!!

Huh?! If you get the JBL sound system, it automatically COMES with the JBL head unit which has an in-dash 6CD changer. The changer itself is NOT an option.
Look at the Toyota site! If you get the JBL option, it says:
Quote:
JBL® AM/FM 6-disc in-dash CD changer with MP3/WMA playback capability, eight speakers, XM® Radio [1][2] (includes 90-day trial subscription), auxiliary audio jack, USB [3] port with iPod® [4] connectivity, CD-text display function, auto sound leveling, hands-free phone capability and music streaming via Bluetooth®[5] wireless technology, and Vacuum Fluorescent Display
Therefore, you GET the 6CD changer AUTOMATICALLY if the car you want has JBL. You may have been searching for a "phantom" option my friend...

Not for the 2010. It is just a standard single disk radio. We haven't found any that come with the JBL option.

Ah I see. Well sorry I don't know much about the 2010 cars.
Here in Canada, potential SE buyers got royally screwed. Now on the SE and SE V6 you simply CANNOT get the JBL system anymore. It's not offered any longer which sucks because the stock audio blows monkey balls.
Why can't a person have a sporty Camry AND enjoy good sound? I'm glad this was offered in 2007.

I have run into a similar situation now my friend ( I think we waited to long)...with the 11's coming in now the only thing if you are set on color and options is get an 11, if you want the 0% going on right now you will have to sacrifice color and or options. I to only want the gray but in an LE v6 with certain options but I am starting to really like the black even if it is hard to keep clean....or I will just wait and get an 11

I think we waited too long too! The 10's are so limited but the 11's don't have 0% financing .
I wonder will it be a hassle to have them install it since I can't find it anywhere...
Fitzmall did tell me they could add JBL "but it's not cheap". I left it at that so don't have a price. I would be interested to know but think at some point aftermarket would seem like a more rational option. I'm looking at the manual but if it was an auto I would definitely consider the SE2 package.

This is crazy! it's still 2010 can I still have upgrade options! Toyota is acting like we want it on an old car come on!
Your zero interest deals are for the left over 2010's, not for the 2011's which are currently in production. You can shop the various geographic regions to see if you can find a dealer listing the car you want, but at the end of the model year you will take what you can get. Frankly you are better off buying a 2011 so you can get exactly what you want. (It is also post recall.) The difference in price is near nothing in the big scheme of things. Buy the car for cash or finance for 12 months and get a nice low rate. Longer term loans are tending to garner higher interest rates due to fears of inflation. Banks don't want to be saddled with a 1% loan with an inflation rate of 6%.
