Gen5 Removing Shifter Knob to Clean Spilled Coke - 2006 Camry LE

So anyway, the other day I pulled through Chick-Fil-A and when I got my drink, they had filled it all the way to the top and when I had to break, some of the Coke leaked out and got into the shifter knob assembly. Now because of the dried Coke that spilled inside the shifter, when shifting down, it seems to stick and make this loud noise within the plastic that is DRIVING ME INSANE!!!

I was wondering if anybody here has successfully taken apart a shifter knob assembly on a Gen 5 Camry.

it's not too hard, but you will have to be careful not too break the tabs/clips. when you take the surrounding trim off, you will see what i mean.
