I'm looking to replace the factory head unit with a Kenwood DNX6960; however, Crutchfield is telling me I'll lose access to the factory subwoofer when I bypass the amp with their harness, and there's no way around it. I haven't seen anyone else complain about this, and according to their
wiring diagram, there's a bypass plug that includes access to the sub. Can anyone who's replaced the sub in this model or a similar one with the JBL audio package confirm they didn't have this issue?
I'd be interested in hearing people's experiences in general replacing just the head unit. Is there a better wiring harness out there (one that includes subwoofer access while still bypassing the amp)? Thanks.
