TN,
Before I get bashed for another navigation thread, please allow me to explain that I know the rules and I have searched previous threads before starting this one. The problem is that they are old, links no longer good, and really haven't found the info I need.
I am looking to buy an aftermarket GPS/DVD unit for my Camry SE. I think it will be a great addition. I already put in the leather seats and tinted the windows. Now I need the Navi and then some rims.
Anyway I saw this unit on ebay for about a grand and just need some opinions on it as I am not the expert in this field. There is also another one for under 400 but I'm not touching that one because it is Chinese. Here is the link to the one I want.
I emailed the seller and he swears this will work on the 2010's and he knows about the different wiring for this year's model. Has anyone installed this successfully? Or one similar? Thanks in advance
I've dealt with those units. We currently use a ROSEN brand (Camry exact fit unit). The Rosen version is made to be a plug and play for standard radio (additional adapter kit required for JBL factory units). The fitment is great and the functionality is not bad either. I've seen tons of the random China no-name brands. They aren't as good as the Rosen, but get the job done in most respects. The biggest gripe would be the warranty. Rosen offers the 3/36k match to your Toyota warranty, while most of the no-name China ones offer 90 days, 12 months if you're lucky.

I agree. For now on, unless that seller can show me a pic of the adapter for the 2010 I'm using my Nuvi660. He doesn't show any pics of the contents of the box, so there's no telling. Waaaay too many companies say it will fit but don't know about the change - a little jab at Enon - I wish I had a pic of the different change, then I'd just build my own connector.

JK,
Are you saying this is a Rosen unit? I'm waiting on the seller to send pics of the wiring adapter. Would you recommend it?

I asked the seller for pics of the adapter but the basterd has not yet responded. I guess i will not be buying that. Anybody know of any other legit systems for my Camry? I really want this soon.

Have a 2010 Camry XLE without the factory NAV; in talking to my dealer I was advised a 2009 Camry XLE NAV would work. Seems the issue is the 2010 has a JBL stereo similar to the 2009.
The factory installed NAV comes with the backup camera and the hard drive and my quoted CAD costs was $4K. This 2009 that I'm having installed next Monday will cost ~ $1,100 CAD.

The manuals say the connectors are different...................Good Luck in believing a dealer.

Please keep me posted after your installation. That is a great deal if it does indeed work. Where did they find a 2009 unit for you?

I've been apprised that I may lose the USB port, as they didn't exist on the 2009. I was also told that the software would run on one of the CD drives. Funny thing is the manual I've got shows a DVD drive.
I can live with one less CD drive and also without the USB port as I have an Ipod which is supported.
The NAV looks like one AWESOME unit.
I sure hope it works; I must admit to some cold feet with moving forward.
check ebay. theres a few 2010 nav units floating around. u should be able to get a oem unit for under or around a k.
I don't know which one to trust. That's why I started this thread with a ebay link. I was hoping someone here installed an aftermarket Navi for a 2010 so I know for sure it works. I guess I can ask the dealer about 2009 units.
