Gen6 Sound Deadening

Hey guys, I just feel toyotas makes cars un-sound proofing from the exterior mainly.

I'm thinking about buying dynomats or something close to it and apply on doors truck and whatever i can further think of to reduce sound when driving higher speeds.

What do you guys think? i know they mainly use these for people with subs but this can also reduce noises virbrations and other noises.

I would like my car to be quiter. Good idea?

If your going for quiter noise from driving be prepared to do the entire floor, roof, doors, trunk lid, trunk floor and every where else inbetween.
stuff isnt cheap either, alot of guys who restore classic cars do it to get rid of all the road noise and excess exhaust noise.
It works but its expensive
Good Idea yes if you have the money, I plan on doing my 64 Impala Wagon after I replace all the rust!
Good Luck

The Camry is actually a very quiet vehicle - even quieter than many German offerings. I know from experience.

Dynomats are very expensive plus you're just adding weight to your car. Keep in mind that stripping off all those interior panels means you have to put them together perfectly otherwise you're going to introduce new noise INSIDE your car such as creaking, squeaking, rattling, etc. You would have wished you never started this project.

what tires do you have?

performance tires that are thin usually have a lot of noise on the highway, especially the bridgestone turanzas I see equipped with a lot of camrys... meatier tires will definitely make a difference on the road

So true I would rather have a little road noise instead of some squeak you cant track down.

The extra weight is not that much of a difference to affect anything in a negative way. The extra weight for the project the OP wants to tackle only adds an extra 30 to 50 lbs.

To the OP, get your hands on the service repair manual to help you disassemble and reassemble everything you need. If you take your time to do it right, you will achieve what you are looking for.
