Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I know this was covered in another thread but it didn't seem to give enough detail. i've had my ddm kit for about a month now, 35w 4500k. On an 07 Camry CE, Color is great. the only thing is its brighter on the driverside than the passnger side. the driverside has a beam of light at the floor and has more glare, can anyone tell me what is causing this.
adjust the lights....behind the headlight, you will see a little nut. i forget what size socket you can use, i think it's 9mm or so. turn clock wise or counter clockwise until your lights are even.

it does seem like the drivers side is brighter. could be a few things. bulb on passenger side is not put in the same way and the hot spot is not as bright as a result, the passenger side's projector bowl might be damaged or not as good from factory as drivers side, or the passenger side headlight lense might not be as clear as the drivers side. should also try swapping bulbs to see if the right side now becomes brighter. if not then make sure both headlight lenses are clean. if both are clean and the bulb swap does not make the right side brighter then it's the projectors themselves and the only way to fix it is retrofit or a different passenger side headlight.
Yes, the screws will adjust the light out put up and down.
When I installed my HID's, my light output line was similar to yours. I adjusted them with those screws.
Also, the other way I did mine (with the lights on), was to adjust the screws, then I stood about 10 ft in front of the car. Slowly kneel down until you see the color change in HID's...
As you are kneeling, when they both have exact color change at the same time, they are even. It is kind of a pain in the ass to walk back and forth after every little turn, but it helped.

umm they both are on the same level according to pics so adjusting the screw on the back will just make them be out of proper alignment. both lower steps seem to be at same height.
I have the same exact problem except its reversed, my driver side is dimmer and the passenger side is brighter. Both headlights are even and I did a bulb and ballast swap but the driver's side is still dimmer. Bought the car used with extended warranty, any idea of a housing swap is covered under warranty?
Okay as long as it normal. That's really stupid though, before I put my fog hids I couldn't see anything on the drivers side and it was driving me crazy
don't adjust your headlights yet, just change the bulbs first. Cause once you start messing up with the headlights adjustment, it's not easy to get it back to normal, and I'm sure it's just the bulbs, plus bulbs area easier to replace.
when it comes around to blacking out my headlights what kind of paint should i use? Is high temp neccesary? and should i use silicone to seal the headlights?

I used high temp engine paint when I did my accord.
And for sealing I used...
Thats ontop of RE HEATING the oem glue, and taping the mofo up with duct tape and using clamps. Then after it dried, I ran another bead along the edges to make sure it was sealed.
Everyone has different methods, so search around the net and get all the ideas and pick the ones you think are best!
swap the bulbs and if the passenger side is still dim, its not your bulbs. if now the driver side gets dim, it is your bulbs. then replace them. they're not expensive so you cant expect them to work flawlessly. thats why i use DDM ballasts, but morimoto bulbs. they only offer d2s though so that sucks.
