add auto dimming mirror to base camry

Hi all

I recently purchased a base 2010 camry and was wondering if anyone had added an auto dimming rear view mirror to one, and if so how difficult the install was.

Since the camry already has a temp gauge on the dash, and my magellan has a compass, I will be getting a mirror without any of those things so I will only need to connect power somehow. My biggest concern is the air bags in the a-pillars.

Any info would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

im looking to do the same exact thing with my '10...i found this a few weeks ago and i plan on using it as a guide when i get my mirror...the install was on a gen5 but should be very similar Auto-dimming mirror install

Thanks for the info. I still would like to hear from anyone who has taken apart the a-pillar in order to hide a wire, or if this is even possible at all due to the air bag.
