Question about Scion TC turbo on Camry I4

Ok guys noob to the Camry world but not cars. I just bought the wifey a 07 Camry I4. And since we have anew car in the house I have a new project...sort of. I've read the Scion TC has the same motor. And was wondering the turbo kits out there, like the Greddy, should actually bolt onto this motor. Maybe have to change some IC piping move the battery but nothing major. The front end looks to have more than enough room to place the ic as well as enough room to mount the trubo. It would make for a nice little sleeper. What do you guys think.

I will have to read up on those guys but why in the world would you have to shave the block? Just looking under the hood looks like a turbo and manifold would fit easily. It just seems to have plenty of room. I might have to try this if I could get a used greddy setup.

Just look for PrincessPeach turbo thread and read through it, you will find all the info you need. It's a lot of work and it will cost you a good amount. It's not really a direct bolt on.

That doesn't look too bad but not sure wifey would let me do that. If I could get a used maniflod to look at it would help. I myself have been working on a 02 subaru installing all kinds of mods including a 06 sti engine and standalone/w meth. I have a buddy who is a professional welder and has pipe bending equipment. After fitting all the stuff in the subaru just the sheer room would make it seem feasible to tubro charge the yota. But I do have alot to learn about these cars. Cause right now all I know is the TC has the same engine. Which means alot of aftermarket support for the platform. And a goal of 300 whp safely with a good tune will last a good while. I"ll have to weed out the good info with the bad. And learn which of you guys knows what he is talking about and who just spouts off bull. No disrespect to anyone at all. Oh by the way whats the auto good for? This car may never see the track but don't want to grenade the tranny. Remember wifey's car, I can only go so far....or so.

Why not? I was just curious really and tryin to see what stuff was out there. And to see how hard, easy and the cost. If I could part some used stuff it may not cost so much. But I'm not interested really on shaving down anything. And if this guy Peach makes a header maybe he can make a slight change to a scion manifold to make it work on the Camry. But like I said before though why not, I've had the mod bug for yrs. Probably will only change when I get to old and need a walker...which will be made of carbon fiber..lol

I don't only sell parts...

My car before.

Friend's car...

And yes you have to shave the block.
And yes, the scion TC manifold will fit. once the block is shaved.
IC does not fit easily. Had to shave the front support and delete my windshield fluid. I'm sure you can get creative and not do both, but it was difficult.
AEM piggyback was used.
T3/T4.
i pushed out 330WHP for a long time on a healthy tune, with good AFR across the board.
I have an auto. Tranny was and is still healthy.
My friend pushed out 390WHP. He had a manual.

Hope this helps in getting some good ideas in your head.
Good to know we have some tuners here (and knowledgeable according to your experience in subarus)
To be honest, I sometimes get tired of helping people because they're all talk. If you really are interested, I'd be glad to share my wealth of information to you and help you get started. PM me if you want more info. Best of luck to you.

I couldve put my ptuning kit on my camry? Damn it, why'd I sell it... JK no turbo for this puppy....

PEACH-330WHP on a auto? Damn Camry's trans must be beefy. The TC's auto maxed out at 250 before slipping and messing up.

t3/t4 is more than what I'm looking for honestly. A 16G maybe 18 but nothin crazy. Not really interested in breaking over 300 whp. That would be about the limit. I think it would be a pretty fun car to drive and something no one would be expecting. When I finally finish the Subaru or atleast get it on the road. I can start on this if I can keep cost down by doing most myself and get help from you Peach. I'll PM you in the future so I can get started. But the AEM worked pretty good? They actually sell one for ther 2.4? Personally I haven't thought about it that far. What other EM would be out there to use?

theres greddy also.

i've had no problems with the AEM ECU. It works like a beauty. You should also think about 440 or 550CC injectors.
