For a couple weeks now, my car has been making a very noticeable high pitched noise that appears to be coming from the engine and definitely does not sound normal. For some odd reason this happens only when accelerating, either from a full stop or a roll. This happens even when the car is fully warmed up...

Took my car to the dealer and they said the drive belt is starting to fray on the outside and that it will be replaced under warranty. I've had the car for less than 4 months brand new, how is this possible? Probably just a defective part?

I'm hoping the drive belt is the only issue and that there isn't anything wrong with the engine.

Anyone else experienced a similar issue?

I have heard a similar noise coming from the engine a few weeks ago (I purchased mine in late January), but it has gone away. I'll keep my ears "open" and if I do hear it.. to the dealer it goes!

i have seen the new tundras drive belt go at about 15-25k cracks and frays. havent heard that sound though, but its possible. does it do it in park when you rev the engine? if so get an audio clip of it. im sure we can figure it out!
