Canada in vancouver now......enroute P0430 with history!

2002 se v6 - at 170'km had/fixed a bad air/fuel ratio sensor. burned maybe 2 tanks of fuel before I corrected the problem......Next.....at 195'km w/codes, I replaced EGR valve and PCV. burned maybe 3-4 tanks of fuel before I got to fixing those. Now...202'km and P0430 is the code that is displayed with OBD2. I have been doing all highway with the car and check engine light has gone out while in the city, but, P0430 code is still pending on OBD2. I have recently changed from highway to city driving with the engine light NOT on while driving in the city type of environment. Previously mentioned air/fuel was bank 2(firewallside) now P0430 is related to incorrect threshold reading same bank. ANY IDEAS??? new o2 sensor downstream bank 2, OR new Catylitic converter. ???????? hoping someone has a little experience in this situation. I've had the car since 90'km, OEM parts only, mixed with oil x's every 5'km + air filters.......I take good care of it, just changed iridiums at 197'km and don't want to replace CAT unless I NEED to....very expensive!!!!!!! THNX in advance.....J PS car was made in Japan

did you ever get this figured out? I just got the same code. Replaced the O2 sensor on the same bank about a year ago.
