2011 camry steptronic

I search and didn't see this talked about. In 2011 camry, is steptronic still gear limiter or did they finally put a real manual steptronic shifter?

it will work in snow kind of like a manual where u can use the gears to slow down the tranny and it will let u get to higher rpms but still won't be like a true manual. it's still fun to use and if u use it often enough it will learn to shit pretty quick.

Quick question. Is it bad to use steptronic mode whenever you drive the car, like almost all the time? Shifting between 3-4rpms?

It's not "bad" to use it. You'll end up shifting just as much as it would on its own anyway.

But there is no need to shift at 3000-4000rpm. That's way too high for daily usage. The V6 engine would have you taking off if you waited for 3000-4000rpm to shift.

yea should be ok though shift a bit earlier. doing it once in a while is ok but not all the time. manuals u can shift later but automatics should shift sooner.

Yea I was using it today and I shift at 3,000. I wish it didn't lag when your using it. I don't use it all the time either. Sometimes I accidentally forget that I put it into steptronic mode and it goes up to 5,000 in the lower gears lol
