Horrible engine noise (video)

Well a few days ago i noticed a little noise when coming to stops almost like a bearing going bad, made no noise during driving just sometimes at idle.. Almost thought it AC clutch or something..

my wife mostly drives the car and yesterday she called me while i was at work and told me she parked the camry because it's making a really loud noise..

I get off work this morning and crank it up, it's kind of dark so i can't see anything but wow it was horrible i turned it off quick.

Waited for the sun to come out, grabbed my little camera and shot this video.. instantly i noticed the waterpump shaking a little, so looks like i'll be replacing that this week, any tips or pointers? I've read alot of threads and see the waterpumps on these cars suck, mostly leak, i've never heard a waterpump sound like this though or have this kind of failure, i just got the car maybe 4 months ago had 128k on it now has about 131k..

been great so far, only other thing i've had to do is replace the AC clutch relay, now that i'm doing the water pump anything else i should look for? i was gonna check out the spark plugs and see if they need done, throw in some new iridiums if so, I normally have manuals, should i do a trans flush?

sorry here's the vid, thanks for any input..

Yea, I would start with the waterpump. Its a pretty straight forward job. There is no gasket on it though so get the RTV (sealer) for it with the new pump. My wifes 03 camry pump started leaking around 60K miles. I went with the OEM replacement pump. Its at 135K now so im keeping an eye on it.

thanks i was wondering if i needed to pick up a gasket too, i'll just pick up some of that Toyota FIGP stuff i know it works great!

my car seems fairly well maintained, engine bay is nice and clean, 1 car owner, body and interior are in excellent shape, i just don't know the service history as the car was actually reposessed from the owner

yeah this definetly looks like the easiest water pump to change that i've ever seen, besides the 2JZ.

i know it's probably hard to tell from the video but the waterpump pulley is shaking pretty bad, and with the engine off it definetly has some play in it when i try and move it with my hand..

Make sure you refill the coolant with the right kind, and that is hardy to do than you might think. Check with the dealer for the correct jug, and avoid the green Prestone.
