Gen5 Location of a DIY - not found on search

I know I saw a good write up with pics of a Gen 5 brake service (pads, rotors etc) on here somewhere. I checked the DIY - not there. I searched and got 6 pages of results - not there. Does anyone remember such a post? Maybe I was dreaming.....

If someone does find a worthy thread we'll amend it to the DIY sticky.

I didn't think they gave service manuals to everyone after they buy a toyota car. I don't think that sort of info is in the OWNER's manual.

anyway i'll PM him.

As I used to put on papers when I taught college Physics, ATQA. Answer the question asked. It is a corollary to the "use the search function" posts that folks like to post. No one is forced to answer a question, but i tend to answer only if I have something useful to add.

I have a PDF of the manual and use it frequently. I already did the job without a problem last weekend. BUT, I remember a thread with great pictures and follow up comments on which parts to replace and which can be reused etc. If you follow the manual exactly and replace all the parts marked non-reuseable ( IIRC grease boots, clips and those washer type deals on the ends of the slide pins/bolts) each time it makes the brake job quite expensive. Also, there was a set of replies that suggested some good self made tools for holding the caliper up (i used zip ties, but someone used hook arrangement). Also, some of the folks that used other than OEM pads talked of reusing the OEM shims, and I wanted to reference that discussion as well. I also think there was a link to a brake bleeding tutorial and mention of the one way bleeder valves. I wanted to see those and eval for installation.

So, as my questions are not those that can be answered by the line drawings in the manual, I posted here after some fruitless searching. I did not bore everyone with the full depth of my question, as it was not relevant.
