Sound deadener / damper / secondary filter in stock airbox removal

I searched a little bit, and have found 1 account of a person removing the sound deadener / damper / secondary air filter in the stock airbox of a gen6 Camry v6. I have a few questions.

1. I took a quick look yesterday, but could not tell if the secondary filter was permanently attached to the top of the airbox, or if it could be easily removed and replaced. Can it be removed and replaced with stock fittings, or will it require some other way of re-attaching it once it is removed?

2. I am truly just looking for a bit more sound out of my car. I know it that may seem silly to some folks, but that's what I want. Will the removal of the sound damper have any other effect than just more noise? Perhaps slightly more air-flow I know, but what I mean is any ill effect? (besides noise, as that is my desired effect).

3. Any further FHE with K&N drop in, sound deadener/damper/secondary filter removal, vacuum line bypass mod would be much appreciated. I've watched the DIY video, and heard the sound-clip. Just looking for any long-term accounts. MAF sensor still okay? Mileage? Throttle response? Malfunction codes? Effect on the exhaust note?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

if ur looking for some more noise why not just get a k&n short ram intake. its not easy to remove that that second dampener. u have to take apart ur whole airbox, remove it and then get in there and remove the dampener and i forget but also block off one from what i remember. netforcer and blackcamse did those mods so they'll prob chime in more. the intake will get u the right noise and with less work. u'll also get the effect that ur car has more power bc u will keep trying to get the "noise" to come out.

The SRI would be a good idea for some sound. I'm all about the free / DIY type stuff though. It also seems like an SRI might actually pull warmer air into the engine thatn the stock set up.

I'm not referring to the resonator box on the intake runner, but rather to another filter that sits above the drop in filter in the airbox itself. You really have to look up in there to see it. I didn't even know it was there until I read a post that mentioned it. blackcamse's video didn't show it either.

It seems kind of restrictive. That it might negate some of the effect of a high-flow drop-in filter (K&N, TRD).

...and yes, I imagine that the immediate effect will be my foot a little harder on the pedal.
