gen 7 08 Camry SE Roof Noise Success

Hello All,

I have searched the forum thick and thin for someone who had success with getting rid of the noise from their sunroof on their SE. We had a TSB done before we bought the car for a "ping" noise from the roof (no rattle). The noise is fixed, but now, after purchasing the car and driving it about 50-60 miles, we are getting the famous "roof rattling" noise that everyone is talking about.

I have read about the nightmares people are facing with noises coming back and what not, but some hope that there is a cure to that wretched noise would be nice.

Has anyone had any success getting this fixed?! Please advise. Thanks.

After having the sunroof TSB done and then re-done on my 08 LE, I still had a rattle on the driver's side. Worse when cold. I finally pulled the molding loose, folded over some 1/8" foam, and pushed it in about 3" with a screwdriver the length of the visor. Added 4" to the front of the door side the next day. Replaced the molding, of course. Got a 95% fix.

The rattling stopped for a day or two after the TSB. I'm guessing the headliner has clips, like the dash panel, which loosen up due to vibration.
