5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I trying to find the color code for my 2008 Camry NAV ( NON JBL ) audio harness.
The only information i could find is for the older models ( before 2006 ).
As I would like to upgrade my audio system with new speakers and amplifiers but keeping the stock head unit.
I bought a new set of OEM head unit connectors ( 10 + 6 pin ) to connect the new cables to my OEM head unit without damaging the harness.
Are the color code the same as the old Camry’s ?

go to camrystuff .com
The wiring for the connectors, will be found in the electrical wiring diagram manual, near the bottom. I may be mistaken, but I thought that the units with NAV were all JBL....

Reason: More information.
Thanks all for the information.
I'm indeed from Thailand ( Dutchy ) but i believe that the coloring code should be the same as for other Camry's.
I found everything on Camrystuff, Great site i looks like i just found it on time
The other information here is only for the older models therefore my question in the first place.
I have only one more question.
What is the stock output power of the headunit without the JBL amplifier.
Thanks again for all the information.

If you remove the amplifier, the output will be the input "line level" for the amplifier. It will be similar to trying to drive a speaker with only the microphone attached directly to the speaker and no amplifier. It just will not work as intended.....

I don't intent to connect the radio output to a amplifier line in.
I only try to check the need for a amplifier.
Maybe i only change the speakers when the output of the stock radio is high enough.
Other wise i will connect a amplifier to the line out of the radio is is there one.

I do not know the details of the stock JBL amplifier or standard head unit power levels.
But if you want more drive to the speakers, add another amplifier for the Bass part of the system ( with a bass speaker in the trunk).
Check out the audio threads, lots of really good info there.....
Enjoy
