Voice Recognition Mode Cancelled

Does anyone have any idea how to activate my voice recognition feature? I brought my car into the dealership for an inspection and the car came back with the voice recognition mode deactivated. Every time I hit the VR button, it says "voice recognition mode cancelled". Even the "help" button on the screen is not accessible - it's grayed out. The guys at the Toyota Service Center struggled for over an hour trying to figure it out, with no luck. Can anyone help me with this?

Start with "Setup" then select "Voice", page 212 in the owners manual for the 2011 year. You didn't state what year yours was.

Navi Software Update

I have a 2007 Camry w/Navi that I just bought used. Apparently the disc is scratched up, which has disabled the voice-activation feature. The dealership service center told me I need to purchase a new updated disc at $200. Is there anywhere else I can get this so that I don't have to pay the premium to the dealership??? Their cost is ridiculous.

1st You shouldnt have posted a new thread for this since it relates to the recent one you just created. 2nd, i believe there's a thread on Nav disc's... not sure but search it... 3rd to answer your question... check Ebay, i myself need a new updated disc.

It's 2007 ... I was with the guys at toyota's service center and they said that it's because of the scratched software disc ... apparently the only thing affected is the voice recognition. They inserted another disc and it apparently worked fine. Any idea where I can get an updated disc without purchasing it from toyota? They charge an arm and a leg.
