Gen6 Need advice

Hello the transmission to my 07 Camry SE V6 went out the other day. I had it towed to the nearest Toyota dealer and they said they will check it out. Today I get a call from them stating that it is still under manufactured warranty but they asked me if I have gotten the transmission serviced anywhere because there was too much fluid in the transmission and they would not honor the warranty. I told them no, I told him that the only place I have taken it to is Speedy to get oil chaned. He told me that maybe they added more fluid to the transmission. He also said he doesnt know how if Toyota is the only place they have scanning tools to do this he sad they might have added fluid through the drain hole. I'm so pissed right now. Are tey just trying to get out of replacing the tranny and want me to fork up the dough? Does anyone have any advice that could help me out? Thanks

Still have your old receipts from Speedy? Find them and see if they added a note saying they added any fluids other than your oil change. Then present them to the dealership.

Since its a dealership, you gotta do alot of complaining also.

I do have receipts and it just says oil change plus 17 Point inspection. Where it says transmission it just has "OK". It does not say they added fluid to transmission just the kind of oil for oil change

bring it in with those receipts and see if they fix it. Or call them and ask.

I did and the guy now wants me to go to speedy and ask what they did to check transmission. I asked him "what if they say they didn't add any?" He said "well somebody did" I think they added fluid before I bought the car. Heeeelp

You might want to give Toyota corporate customer service a call at 1-800-331-4331 and discuss the issue with them.

Well I just got back from the dealership. The guy said there is nothing he can do about it because someone over filled the transmission with fluid. Speedy did not add fluid to it either so where did it come from!?I really think they want to stiff me with the bill of $5,445.00!!!!! I called Toyota and now have a case against them. I hope it gets resolved

I wrote a very detailed letter when i first got my car to Toyota Canada....now the dealer treats me like a VIP.

Hopefully Toyota Co. will help you and get the issuse resolved. Or have it taken to another dealer and see what they say.

Yeah I did tell him that I would take it to another dealer and he said they wouldn't fix it either because he entered it into a computer and the other dealer would see that. Man I'm without a car and it sucks. How could someone add too much transmission fluid?

Yeah but he's saying that someone added too much fluid and that's what broke the transmission gearing. I NEVER had anyone do any transmission work on it. I bought it used certified from a Toyota dealer. He said that with that much fluid the transmission would last 1000 miles, I told him since my last oil change it's been about 4000 miles and he said oh I meant that many. WTF!? does anyone work for Toyota service department? Is this true?

Make sure you pointed that out to Toyota corporate when you called them.

I did tell the rep from Toyota Corp. They should be getting back to me by tomorrow. I'm crossing my fingers cause it's basically my word against a Toyota dealer

Update. Just got off the phone with the Toyota dealer and he said that they are going to help us out but the only way they can do it is that we need to come up with $798.00 + tax and that we needed to tell them yes or no right away so they could order the transmission. I guess its better than $5,400 and something. Should I call Toyota Corp and let them know or should I just take there offer?
