Okay, I just received my Tein lowering springs and I have a question about the bumpstops.
I have searched and nobody in particular has asked this:
To cut or not to cut the bumpstops?
I know the function of the bumpstops and the reasoning behind trimming them as per Tein specifications, I just don't know what to do.
Some people on here (not to mention names), has had them trimmed, some people have not.....while others have had them removed completely.
On the other hand, I am also going to install KYB struts when I install my springs....so my question still stands for anyone with knowledge on this subject.
I know I have helped a lot of people on here with various subjects.....suspension is something I am trying to have a little more knowledge of.
Thanks in advance for the responses.

Compression maybe. The tech that drove with me for alignment correction said they sound like they are twisting or rubbing during heavy cornering, can't remember the exact term. But said it is not an issue to worry about.

I haven't installed anything yet, so I haven't been able to hear this. Thanks for the info though.
Everywhere I search on the internet about the bumpstops, some people cut them, some people don't, some people remove them, some don't.....lol.
I talked to a suspension guy earlier today to answer a few questions for me. He said that he has taken out the bump stops on all of his installations. The only bad thing about that is if you bottom out, your struts are toast.

I don't know, the springs are not made for Gen 6 Camrys, so how did you decide where to cut?
The manual also says to leave it if you don't have any info.
What do you mean the springs arent made for our cars? Not sure what you bought but I have the ones for my car. I cut it based on the pictures in the installation booklet. It clearly shows you where to cut it. You basically cut them in half, and I remember right you take off the top piece and leave the bottom.

I assumed Ebum is referring is Tein Solara springs, not TRD or Tein Camry Springs.

Yup. Pretty sure it's the same springs Drew has.
Solara springs are good for Camry's as well.

I've decided to just cut them as per Tein's measurement chart for our vehicle instead of taking them out all the way or not even taking them out at all.
If you take them out all the way, there is no cushion for if you accidently bottom out, (huge pot hole / curb). If you don't trim them, I have read that you won't get maximum lowering from the springs, or you might experience the clunking or weird noises on hard turns. (this is all just based on what I have read about from various sites and forums). If I am wrong, someone please chime in.
