5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Hey guys, I just bought a 2011 Camry this weekend. I traded my '07 Corolla on it. I think I got a whale of a deal on it, which is why I did it without really planning on it (paid $16,880 on an MSRP of $22,888). It's my color (Sandy Beach Metallic). The difference in ride quality and comfort over the Corolla is amazing. More than I would have ever guessed. I'm very happy with the power from the 2AR-FE. And the 6-speed auto is really nice. My Corolla was a stick, but the wife couldn't drive it, so I got the automatic this time. Very happy with it so far. It had 4 miles on it when I first test-drove it. Up to over 500 already.
wow congrats on the deal! what's the name of the dealership that gave you a brand new camry for under 17k (I'm assuming this is without trade-in?)and what kind of strings did you have to pull to get that deal?

I love my 11. The new 2.5L coupled with the 6 speed auto is awesome.... I purchased mine on the 1st. and picked it up on the 2nd. of this month. 436 miles and just dropped to 1 tick below the 1/4 tank mark. (My dealer is 73 miles from home, included on this tank.) I know that the XLE estimated MPG reading is always high but it is consistently holding at 32.0 mpg. When I had the 07 LE I noticed that if you keep the RPM's below 2700, your MPG will remain higher. This is easier to do with the 6 speed auto.
I drive 18.8 miles to work and back each day, mostly rural, 55mph, and some 25 to 45 stretches.
I haven't seen any new 6 speed trany problems reports, and mine is still in the adjustment/learning stages, yet. But I did see 1 "flair" this week. Just be watchful... and do not hesitate to register you concern with the dealer, for the record.
Enjoy your new ride, I do mine......
